[ARRL-OK] Additional Info on Memory Battery for Kenwood TS-430S

Before attempting ANY servicing of this transceiver, be sure

that ALL power is disconnected.

 

After further research, this battery is at the right rear of the

Control Unit board.  To access this board, the IF Unit must

be swung up toward the front of the transceiver.  This unit

has three screws toward the rear which must be removed

to allow the IF Unit to pivot up to allow access to the Control

Unit board.

 

AGAIN, be sure that ALL power is removed before proceeding.

 

It should be a simple matter to change out the battery after

the above partial disassembly is completed.

 

Reassemble the transceiver in reverse order, as usual.
