Merlin Griffin WB5OSM will be stepping down as ARES District Emergency
Coordinator (DEC). I want to thank Merlin for his many years of continued
service to ARES, our community and Amateur Radio. Merlin is a board member
of ORSI and will be spending much of this with the task of repeater
frequency coordination. Merlin will be still acting as the Net Manager for
the Tulsa Area ARES/RACES Tuesday night net.

Please welcome Brian Gnad KB5TSI. Brian has been appointed as the new DEC.
Counties he will oversee will be Tulsa, Rogers, Wagoner and Creek (where
most of the population in the Tulsa Metro area is).

Brian is very well trained (EC 1,2 & 3 plus a whole host of FEMA
training) and was the Volunteer of the Year in 2005 for Tulsa Mayors
Citizen Corp. His is a long time Red Cross & CERT Volunteer. He also saw
the issues that ARES faced here in OK and welcomes the changes and the
challanges.
