Jus read your e-mail reference JOTA. I have a ham station located at our
Salvation Army here in Lawton. Each year we have the Lawton Fort Sill scouts
at the Salvation Army to operate amateur radio. We will
have the Sal station operating and 3 to 4 mobile stations operating in the
parking lot. Each station operates on different bands allowing the scouts to
talk to other scouts around the country. We rotate each group from one vehicle
to another which allows them to talk different states and DX. Soft drinks
and snacks is provided for the scouts. Fort Sill will have adult leaders with
the scouts. (They enjoy hearing contacts the scouts are making state side and
DX.) I will have code oscillators with
hand keys and code charts that they really enjoy learning to send code.
( I understand the code requirement is being dropped as a requirement)
They will still enjoy learning using the code keys. 73, Frank, AB5J
