To: OK Section

From: John Thomason, WB5SYT
OK Section Manager

The intense Amateur Radio effort in the recovery following the two=20
significant storms in the past several days is winding down quickly. The FCC=
=20
has rescinded the General Emergency Declaration in the OK Section per ARRL=20
Bullentin 34. The majority of recovery effort is now self sustaining. =20

Amateur Radio responded quickly and thoroughly with hams in support from the=
=20
OKC area and others part of the state including Tulsa, Ponca City, Enid, Ada=
,=20
Ardmore, and Lawton and other communities. Seems Amateur Radio in OK did wel=
l=20
in a very challenging and changing environment over the three day period. =20
Not the least of the challenges was the second storm, which happened on=20
Friday night (deja vu all over again), which resulted in many mid stream=20
changes. =20

To provide an early opportunity for review of the Amateur Radio effort a=20
meeting is set, as below. Hopefully this will assist in the learning proces=
s=20
so we learn from the May 2003 OKC storms and are more capable when the bell=20
rings again. Your efforts and interest in serving your community via Amateu=
r=20
Radio is appreciated.
