Another lubricant that seems to work well in this situation is Marvel Mystery
Oil. I recently picked up an Omni-A that had been sitting around for a while
-- obviously, the PTO was a bit stiff. Since the "innards" of the PTO are in
clear view with the top cover of the rig off, I took a toothpick and
carefully placed small drops of oil on each of the bearings as well as on the
pistol sliding mechanism etc. The treatment definitely made a difference.
There are probably many lubricants that would work in a similar fashion; the
only concern I would see would be if any of them might damage the plastic
and/or brass parts.
