Hello again everyone,

I apologize for no recap last month.  I was not able to attend. 
However, this month I was there.  So here goes.

AReU meeting for October 4, 2005

This meetings highlight had Tony, W4TAS, tuning up a six can
duplexer for the Sheriff's 146.610 repeater.  It was a great
practical live demonstration of how to tune up a duplexer using
the HP Spectrum analyzer to do the job.  Tony made it look so
easy that even a CB'r could have done it with that HP Spectrum
analyzer.  Dave Welty, N4DLW, will now take the duplexer and put
it on the air and give it the final acid test.  Tune into
146.610 and listen for the results.

We had some other discussions also.  I had some Windows98
Internet connection sharing problems with my home system.  Fred,
N4NWW, and Paul, KF9EY, gave me some good ideas to test.  At
this point though, I thought I'd first get the news letter out
before possibly destroying my system.  I'll let you all know how
good their suggestions were next month. 

Other good discussions took place along with viewing some
hurricane pictures that Dave Welty, N4DLW, brought in on his
laptop for everyone to view.

Next meeting Ron, KA4INM, said he is going to present a program
on antennas.  I'm really looking forward to this because Ron is
a good teacher and great source for a wealth of electronics
knowledge.  Be sure to mark your calendar for next month.
