Fw: [AReU] <----- October, 2005 meeting meeting notice

Thank you Ron for the timely reminder.

I'm afraid I don't have anythng significant to show and tell.

I built another horn antenna that is supposed to be good
for 5.7 and 10.3 GHz. I have not "tuned it up" yet but the
procedure for this is very interesting. It involves a "BB" and
a magnet. Of course a dual directional coupler, signal source
for the appropriate frequency and some sort of power measuring
device is required. It will be interesting to try it out and see
how it works. I will schedule a "show and tell" for this procedure
later in the year.

I also have some information on finding the "focal point" of
various dishes of the Ku band variety (18 in, dia.). I was
surprised at the mounting of the original Ku band antenna.
The focal point as measured by this method differed
substantially from the mounting of the factory antenna.

Tony
