[AReU] FIELD DAY

I have managed to get all of the equipment repaired and ready to go. I
repaired the connector on my AO40 uplink antenna tonight. It "tanked " on
me at the TARC/BARS picnic and I just put it in the shed for future
reference. I will be more careful when I hook the 1/2 inch heliax
cable to it this time.

I have two cameras for the ATV station. One is a color unit that is very
large and the other is a small black and white. I am favoring the black
and white unit because my tripod is not quite large enough for the big
unit. I had to hastily construct a power supply for the small camera so
it has the classic "duct tape" look.

I will use my FT290 for the attempt to contact the International Space
Station. There will be a pass just after the start of Field Day Saturday.
It will be a good one and it starts at 2:30 PM. It only lasts for 10 minutes
so we will have to "be on our toes". Be sure to stick around and see if
we make it. The AO40 satellite will be in a good position until 4:00 PM
on Saturday so we will probably make a few contacts there too.

I am told that 10 meters was open last Tuesday and Roy (WD8RBB)
checked into the Brandon 10 meter round table on 28.365 MHz. Maybe
this is an indication that we will have a 6 meter opening during Field
Day this year.

I'm going to "pack it in" for tonight.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Field Day this weekend.
