I am about ready to begin again in my AO40 satellite work. I have been
"null and void" since field day. The squint angles have been poor lately
except for some very fleeting moments and I have not set my AO40
station up after having used it on field day. I have been keeping close
track however and I now find that the first of November marks the
close of the long dry spell. By November 15 th AO40 will be at ALON/ALAT
0,0 again.

For the folks who don't know what means, it means "RIDE EM COWBOY".
Get those antennas pointed in the right direction and start making hay.

A good start would to get your downconverters up and running with
whatever downlink antenna you can come up with. I know that several
people on this reflector already have their downlink ready and some
have the start of an uplink system. If anyone needs help in getting
their systems going, give me a holler and I'll see if I can help. A very
simple 30 turn helix will work for the beacon but a dish and relatively
low noise converter will be required for SSB reception.

I will post the pointing information if anyone needs it. The satellite
is turned off at present so just get your stuff ready for November.
