I see winlink and other medium such as IRLP Echolink and others as just
another way amateur radio has to move information. We need not rely on it
soley as our way to do things. It is another tool in the box. We still have
the best way to get information in and out with our operations. We always
need to be open to new ideas and ways to do things. If the internet became
unable to do what was needed in an emergency I would hope that we amateurs
would still have the equipment and the ability to establish reliable
communications within our own system. That is what we do best is get thru
when no one else can. Lets not loose that idea, But at the same time we
should not be afraid to use what is available to us in the digital world.
