Mark,

1) I too have converted to the Anderson Power Poles and am encouraging
those in my circle of influence to do the same ("If" they want to
   have connectors).

2) I also wanted to note that:

   a) I have made some adapaters and adapters are also commercially
available, so you don't have to insist on everyone converting
      at one time.

   b) one class of my adapters is to bare wires.

   c) once you start this process of putting power poles inline in
existing equipment you quickly find that you end up
with some very useful commbinationn of "ends" that not only
adapt the radio/equipment but can be used with each other. Ex:

      i) bare ends ii) small aligator clips
iii) large aligator clips iv) pigtail
      v) cigarette lighter socket vi) step down to 9,6,3v
vii) 12v car trailer plugs viii) 2,3 way "Y's"

A friend had a radio with only a pigtail, we had a car battery,
so I took the large aligators and plugged them into a socket, the
      pigtail into the socket.

Same applied to a "power inverter" with only a pigtail.

I have also plugged 2 sets of aligators together to make a
power jumper. Aligators are nice for either source or destination.

   d) The power poles (and other connectors as well) also enable
some nice things that go inline.

       i) Extension cables ii) meters (check out the
iii) Voltage regulator "whatt" meter) its on
(used with solar panel my xmass list.
      iv) FUSES
