>From what I understand about InfraGuard, it is a collaboration between
Cyber-people (mostly .edu or business continuity folks) and Government, i.e.
the Department of Justice through the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The information originates, IMO, from a knowledgeable list member. The
information is past to the list members to act upon, IMO, as they deem
appropriate. A use would be to, for example, let people know of a threat I
uncover locally. This could be a checks and balance in keeping me up to
speed on items I need to know versus having a loose gun out there running
off at the mouth.
Most of the information comes via email and is distributed similarly. There
may also be information given at meetings (I missed the one today). Again,
I don't know that there is a value in the average amateur radio operator
being involved, though this would be a call for the local Infraguard to
establish. In Oklahoma, all I had to do to get on it was contact the local
FBI office, complete a form, have the county commissioners sign it, and
submit it. The process itself would preclude some hams from participating
just because some don't have that accountability line in place.
Your Emergency Management folks may also want to investigate Law Enforcement

I am currently in the process of receiving authorization for this service.
It is sponsored, again, by Department of Justice through the Office of
Domestic Preparedness. Again, same process ... submit application through
chain of command.
Let me know how more I can help.
