It deteriorated badly while there and was beyond economic repair.  It was eventually towed to Ensenada for scrapping (may have sunk along the way?). While visiting NAS Wildwood Air Museum, Wildwood New Jersey this passed
weekend I saw a M29 Weasel with a SX-40 mounted in the passenger
compartment. someone painted is cameo green. So yes museums do make errors
on things. The museum was small but had a lot of good aircraft and the a
wall showing the full history of the base. The airfield is still in
operation as a general aviation airport. Also a crossed from the gate was a
small Vietnam Museum, which is staffed by volunteers. It was a nice day trip
for me and my wife.
