I am looking thru old emails right now, looking for one particular email, and i found a post about the PBY radios
and ATB transmitter. I had two of the ATB at one time. One, with the smaller remote control box, i sold to an
Oregon ham. This set still had some kind of factory tag attached to it. I bought it from G&G NYC; it was no doubt
one of the last things they sold. The second set, which i have not seen in years, but definitely need to get rid of,
i bought from a retired PBY pilot. Name eludes me right now. Oh - "Frances Yonker", i think it was. This was maybe
30 years ago. He took out the complicated, timed - keying relay, which i need to find before i offer it. His owning
it is no proof, of course, that his PBY actually used the transmitter, but it is not to be ignored, either. 
I may have two references to the ATB in Navy service. One is the PBY radio eqpt photo that Mark mentioned. The 
other may be a Navy book on aircraft radio, large format, not the small blue series on aircraft topics. 
This would be a fun set to operate, i think. But i have enough projects, including some Japanese aircraft radios that
should be first priority. One nice point about these radios is they did not use external control boxes of any sort. 
Strictly local control or pilot push - to - talk. 

Mark's note mentioned the German Torn.Fu.d radio. Its working freq is pretty  useless, but of course that can be
changed. I let my brother sell a Tornister ( back pack ) transceiver, model eludes me at moment; only covered 80
meters. I do not care for the 80 meter band, but i regret now letting that be sold. I guess i have enough left tho,
to keep me busy. I likewise regret selling the BC-1209 transmitter - receiver, particularly that it went to a non -
radio person, someone who obviously knew nothing, but so it goes. Cannot keep everything during our tenure.
Oh.....the German radio was the Torn. Fu.G.k   Possibly one of the biggest weight / power output radios out there.
