It appears that the once-useful Directional Adcock beacons disappeared in the USA more than 60 years ago. I never heard one.
In 1964 I started listening to a BC-453-A that my dad W5WRR hooked up for me when I was age 12. I fell in love with the 410 to 530 kHz range that was the MF maritime (Morse) band. That was THE most interesting segment of the RF spectrum until it all shut down in 1999. Up to that I usually kept a receiver bedside on the 500 kHz distress and calling frequency at night. I miss it more than anything else on radio.

The Millville NJ NDB is still in operation - RNB on 363 kHz. I picked it up tonight.
I loved listening to those NBD's on cold winter nights with my BC-453. LF was my favorite band.
