Heh,
Dave - once upon a time a local ham made a contact from Michigan to
Australia on 160 meters. When his QSL card arrived he mentioned it on
the local two meter repeater. Our 160 meter guru started asking
questions about his amplifier and towers. The only had a modest dipole
and a barefoot ricebox for about 100 watts. Our guru denied such a thing
was even possible. He was invited to the coffee shop gathering to see
the QSL card. Even after seeing the card he denied it! Some people are
just plain hard-headed.
