The R-24/ARC-5 or other BC Band receiver has no part to play in a typical AN/ARC-5 HF/VHF communications with AN/ARR-2 (ZB) VHF homing installation. By the time the AN/ARC-5 was deployed the R-24/ARC-5 with R-1/ARR-1 homing adapter was made obsolete by the AN/ARR-2 homing receiver.
Suggested Typical 3-Receiver/2-Transmitter System
for a single-seat carrier-based fighter like F6F
Receivers
1. R-4A/ARR-2 ZB Homing (246 MHz)
2. R-26/ARC-5 HF Comms (3-6 MHz) FIXED TUNED
3. R-28/ARC-5 VHF Comms (100-156 MHz) 4-Channel, Crystal
Transmitters
1. T-23/ARC-5* VHF Comms (100-156 MHz) 4-Channel, Crystal
2. T-20/ARC-5 HF Comms (4-5.3 MHz) FIXED TUNED
* Or T-126/ARC-5
Control Boxes
1. C-30A/ARC-5 Transmitter Select and VHF Channel Select
2. C-38/ARC-5 Comm Receiver Audio, Homing Receiver Control
Miscellaneous
1. MD-7/ARC-5 Modulator
2. DY-2A/ARR-2 Receiver Dynamotor (3)
3. DY-8/ARC-5 Transmitter Dynamotor
4. RE-2/ARC-5 HF Antenna Relay

The ARC-5 I’m looking to put together will have both HF and VHF. Just have to figure out how to configure things. Using an ARA receiver instead of an R-24. I have the VHF transmitter and receiver racked already ( single racks) Also make the backs for the 2 receiver and 3 transmitter racks. Everything also has shock mounts.
