Great information. We are planning a road trip to Florida very soon. I can bring the stuff with me and deliver it in person!
Where in MA is American Heritage Foundation located?
Also, just remembered I have a brand new in box BC-645 (box has been opened) IFF set. Might not be correct for an early PBY but perhaps you know if another warbird that could use it. I also have associated dynamotor for it, even includes a code wheel interrupter on the shaft. Pretty sure the thermite squibs have been removed from the 645! The dyno was modified by placing it on a mini box for ham mobile use but appears to be original otherwise. I bought the 645 at a ham fest a few years ago with the thought of getting it to a warbird restoration.

My mother when she was pregnant with me, worked at Remmert-Werner Aircraft Company at Lindbergh Field in St. Louis MO. At the time back in 1952, they were converting large military aircraft into executive aircraft. They did a DC-3 for Arthur Godfrey , who was a pilot and also a ham. They also did PBY conversions, and Mom and I went up for a check ride in of them, most likely in the spring, because I was told that there was extensive flooding on the Mississippi at the time.

This aircraft, BuNo 2459, was originally built as a PBY-5 without retractable wheels but was modified to a PBY-5A amphibious version during the war. She went on to sink three U boats and has an amazing history. She is now back in the US and is being brought back to a stock configuration which is very rare amongst PBY’s these days. She will be a flier too where people will be able to see her and her authentic interior.
