L-15 is the RF choke in series with the 24 VDC input line. One of its purposes is to keep noise from the dynamotor from being heard in the receiver. If you are using an external AC power supply, you don't need it.However, I do have several loose ones here. I can send you one once I have recovered a bit more of my health. The 3-pin connector on the back deck is the dynamotor connector. If it was removed, then it was removed by prying it out, thereby ruining it. I am not at all sure HOW one could possibly replace it. Dave Stinson may know. I sure don't. In any case, I have one or more destroyed receivers here which still have that connector on their back deck. Again, I will send you one as soon as I have regained a bit more strength. The previous owner realized that L-15 was no longer needed, he needed the room taken by it, and intended to use the octal socket to connect his now "AM tuner" to external devices, like a hi-fi amp.I have at least 6 BC band receivers here, all hacked worse than yours. There is a remote possibility that I can restore most of them, although two will require extensive work.Ken W7EKBSent via the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, an AT&T 5G smartphone
