On the size of the coils of any dipper: its possible to use
link coupling where space is limited. Instructions for this are
in at least a couple of GDO handbooks. Can be done with stiff
wire or in other ways.
I think GDO's are sort of forgotten instruments. They are not
precise but can do things its hard to do otherwise such as
injecting signals into transmitters or receivers. Useful for
adjusting new equipment and design of output circuits, etc.
