Here is an email I just sent Jim Redman after reading his recent book, "Last Flight of the Lady Be Good".
This inexpensive softcover book has the story up to present date along with numerous B-24 photos.

Jim, just received and read your book "Last Flight of the Lady Be Good". I have been very interested in that story since I first read of it in 1959, at age 11, in the LIFE magazine that my father received. Many years later, remembering so well the full page photos in that magazine issue, together the with the of course too short text, I went out and bought myself another copy of that date magazine.
Thanks for writing this book. I also want to alert you to an article you might find interesting about a WWII German aircrew emergency landing in the North African desert. In this case, the crew was still with the disabled aircraft, and was able to use the plane's radio to call for help - a message that was transmitted from North Africa and answered by an alert station in Germany !
Another thing you might want to look into. An Italian WWII aircraft story much like the incident of the 'Lady Be Good'.

For others whom I am emailing this, but without the attachments, here is the site for the Luftwaffe WWII desert
incident:

The above is the site for copies of the closed magazine 'Morsum Magnificat'. The link will download a PDF file of about
9.7 mb. You only really need 2 pages, 46 and 47. If you just want to look at all the M.M. issues list on Lynn Burlingame, N7CFO website, here it is:
