This quote is from "The Pajama Pilot", Military History Quarterly, Volume 34-1,
Autumn 2021:

"And inside the fuselage shows the hole made by the entry of the 20 millimeter,
and when it exploded, these radios absorbed the shock. I had no armor plate in
back of me in these airplanes, and what saved my life was these radios that 
absorbed the shock."

Phil Rasmussen, about flying the Curtiss P-36 over Hawaii on December 7, 1941.
So titled because he hurriedly took off still in pajamas and without flight helmet.
