Subject: Pan Am aircraft radios

When I was working in Seattle electronics surplus store, ca. 1978, a fellow came in and was talking with Howard Lembke, the boss. This fellow said he picked up on this trip a Pan Am aircraft receiver. I may have even seen it, if so, it was one of the small regens with a couple of National type BM vernier dials. He said he was so happy to have it, as he'd worked for Pan Am. I don't specifically recall that he was a Pan Am flight radioman, but he may well have been; otherwise why his obvious great happiness in having this receiver. This gentleman had some kind of insurance agency business, in, I think, Yakima WA or - less likely, Wenatchee WA. Pretty sure it was Yakima. I think I even had his business card, but pretty sure it's gone. It was Carl somebody. I will wonder to the rest of my days who finally got the receiver. Was it tossed, or is it sitting in someone's house now, underappreciated? I have enough projects now, but maybe I'll look into trying to trace back that insurance agency name.
