Hue, you should consider the fact that no modern military still uses the throat mic. They were phased out of most militaries by the early 1950’s precisely because they were not very good. Armor crewman use a boom mic or a handheld. Aircrew use a mask mic, a boom mic or a handheld. If the throat mic was so good, it would not have been phased out so quickly. But is sure looks neat in the movies, doesn’t it.
