Hi, This is close to what I found in the ARRL Handbook and I built one and used it. Another similar one from 73 Magazine. The FTE design should be able to deliver better efficiency and that is where I am going next. If I have enough lifetime left I will compare the two designs - bipolar vs FET. I expect the FET design to give better performance with longer battery life. Battery life is a critical factor in battery powered operation. 73, Bill  KU8H

I built another type to power a ZC1 set using a 4000 series ic as an osc driving the gates of a couple of power fets, which worked very well.
A sine wave would nicer, and cleaner but simply banging fets on/off does the trick, hi.
