[ARC5] R-2/ARR-3 Receiver

A good trick was to place a few sonobuoys right in front of the target, and have them “go active” at just the right time. It let Ivan know for sure that we knew just exactly where he was.
Depth was the only real problem.
Chased a lot of them, caught a bunch, but always had to let them go.

I guess the guys that told you that never heard it. I do not understand the statement anyway, as buoys are not usually dropped close to the sub, unless by mistake. If they know where it is, no need for sonobouys. I was never as impressed by our soldiers as when I visited one of our nuclear subs. The character and discipline of the sailors were extraordinary. Submariners tell me that the worst thing they can hear is the drone of a sonobuoy aircraft dropping buoys. It means you're probably about to die.
