Here is something you boys and girls might find interesting. Some of you will recall the CQ Magazine article that
discussed the BC-348, putting one shorted turn between the windings of the overcoupled third IF. At one time,
when I was first reading this kink, I referred to a Hammarlund IF coil selectivity graph to actually interpret the
distance to an actual kHz number, but I didn't record my finding. I have to drop projects often as some priority
suddenly comes up. I note one difference is that the CQ article only said shorted turn, not ground the shorted
turn as in this 'kink'. This is courtesy 'Radio News and Short Wave Radio', May 1937, page 690. There is an actual
wealth of interesting tricks and innovative ideas in the old literature. I have cut down the kb size of the article
quite a bit to prevent it being rejected by listware.
