[ARC5] Spot switch for the ARC-5 transmitter

I was thinking about ways to to calibrate the transmitter to the receiver frequency without full power which overloads the receiver even with the antenna grounded in the antenna switch box.
Has anyone tried interrupting the screen voltage wire between the modulator and the transmitter ?
