The rumor that I hear is that all the major Japanese motorcycle
manufacturers require their street engines to endure 24 hours at full power.
And, believe it or not, Velocette, a British manufacturer, set a 24 hour
100 mph record with a '60s Thruxton model. Engine is a push-rod 500 single.
