I think I still have a real nice looking transformer from a microwave oven that I was thinking about. It has a 1300 volt secondary. I was thinking I could peel off the low voltage winding, then peel off enough HV turns to give more like 1000 volts out. This reminds me I should find that thing and finally decide go - no go ( dispose ). -Hue
