I looked for the '73 Magazine' number with the article, "Receiver Hot-Rodding
Hints", but my copy is hiding. In this article, the author thoroughly decoupled all
the IF LCs from DC, by copious use of RF chokes. I thought the article explained
that DC levels led to detuning, not loss of Q. I thought the author actually went
too far. Isolating the grid from the tuned circuit is not going to cut down on
Miller-effect capacitance unless the coupling capacitor is quite small, on the small
scale as the effect capacitance. There was a before - after graph offered and I
considered it tantalizing but practically useless, as no numbers were attached to
the frequency axis. I recall the graph did have a very noticeable unsymmetric
aspect and I thought that was interesting also.
