Hello Bob and Hue,
The crystals for the BC-221 and LM series are all made to the same specification - 1.000 MHz, phenolic octal base, black-painted steel cover, same pinouts.
Over the last few months, I have sold several BC-221s and LM-13s on eBay, in good working condition, complete with all correct valves and crystals, with correctly serial-numbered calibration books, some with repainted outer steel cases, for AU$60+ each, plus shipping; the + indicates a slightly higher price when all spare valves and crystal or the PL-P56 connector are in place. In some BC-221s, I have replaced the curled up nitro-cellulose windows with stable Lexan (R).
The complete ones have all sold. All I have left are parts, including the crystal, some ceramic valve sockets and so on. What will I use now? I have a completely refurbished and working AN / URM - 32A.

Hi
I would not be surprised to find that the crystal in the devices is fairly specific to that
particular sub-model. Put another way, I’m not sure that an early 221 crystal would be
right for a late version of the 221. Only way to find out would be to swap this and that
to see.
Indeed you can head over and buy an LM or 221 at the typical hamfest for < $20. Shipping
to Europe might be 3X that…..
