Yes. Exactly. Turns out that the IF output of most receivers has a good harmonic output and
tuning the BC-453 or R-23 to 1/2 the frequency of the IF (915/2=457), the Q-5er "hears" that
just fine and works just like it does with a receiver which has a 455 kc IF.
I have that article here somewhere. I have forgotten the year and number of ER in which it
appears.
Joe Long went into quite a lot of detail on this process, and tried it with several different
receivers which had IFs other than 455 kc. It worked perfectly in all cases he tried.
