[ARC5] How delivery services treat our radio packages

It is often a bit of trouble, but I have found it possible to pack
stuff so it will survive. I had to ship an antique quick-change race car
rear axle and built a box for it out of plywood with a frame supporting
the center section and the axle ends (without hubs) and a lot of
compressible Styrofoam in strategic places. It survived UPS shipping
halfway across the U.S.

I have shipped a number of ARC-5 and associated items as far as
Australia, always double boxing with styrofoam in between and so far
have had, at least, no complaints from recipients.

Worst problem was one overseas shipment that was returned to me
because some idiot inspector at JFK airport thought a power supply that
was fairly heavy was a bomb. It took me a year to get the Post Office to
refund the steep shipping cost. I re-packed it and taped a photograph of
the contents to the outside and it went through.
