[ARC5] HF/MF Mission Speculations

I think unfortunately for now, the intended use of the medium wave ARC-5 remains a mystery.
I have seen no evidence that airfields anywhere in WW2 used the 600 - 1500 kHz range for 
beacon or communication. Even out of the way places. True, the Navy did use air to surface
frequencies in the MW region, for example the 1929 model ME, 500 - 800 kHz, but that was
1929.
I do not think a single fighter plane carried a trailing antenna. The fixed antenna would not 
suffice at all for the MW band.
