There may be a small hint here, or maybe not. In the absence of
any hard copy verification, this is all just "thinking out loud".

When I was bringing my ARC-38 up, I took the time to decode the
memory presets in a control head that I had. And sure enough,
2182, 2670, 2678 and a few other 2MHz frequencies were in there.

The ARC-38 is probably more closely associated with the P-2 Neptune,
I wonder if any served on a P-3 Orion.

It would interesting to find out, if anyone has an ARC-39 with the
crystals still in it, what those frequencies are.

Speaking of P-3s. The TV station I worked for in Reno had a translator
at South Lake Tahoe. And on more than one trip, I saw P-3s making low
level passes over the lake. Gave rise to some "tongue in cheek" comments
about submarines in Lake Tahoe.
