Quinine appears to be an effective therapy for the Kung Flu. It most certainly doesn't cure it,
but it does help mitigate the symptoms, a lot, and it appears to also boost the immune
system.

Tonic Water of all brands contains Quinine, some more, some less. The Brits in India used
quinine with gin to combat malaria. Ya know: gin and tonic.

There are several different brands of tonic water, available at almost all supermarkets and
food stores. SOME contain a lot of sugar or high-fructose corn syrup, other brands do not.
Check the ingredients on the bottle. We prefer the brands without the added sugar. The
sugar's purpose is to mitigate the bitter taste of quinine. I find it unnecessary.

Some people (and I am one of those) experience intestinal distress from taking very much
quinine, and the amount which causes that distress varies by person. In my case, I get that
about 2 hours after drinking most of a bottle of tonic water. It feels kinda like someone
punched me in the stomache, but it wears off quickly.

Zinc boosts the immune system, as does Elderberry, Vit-C, Echanacia, Vit A. Be somewhat
careful of the amounts of Vit A and Zinc, though. It is not necessary to overdo either of those.

Vit C is a different matter: take enough to cause mild diarrhea, then back off a bit. I take 8
grams/day, 4 grams in the morning with breakfast, and 4 grams before bed.

NONE of these can cure the Kung Flu, but they all do help give your immune system a better
than fighting chance against it.

BTW, I have severe rheumatoid arthritis, one of the therapies for which is methotrexate and
prednisone, both of which almost destroy my immune system, making me particularly
susceptible to the Kung Flu. Therefore I have to boost my immune system every way I can.

So far, we have escaped it, and the above helps me in other ways.

Likewise, David. Keeping you and your family in my daily prayers.
