If you have a signal generator put a series 10k resistor between the hot and top end of the BFO coil and ground to the ground side. Put a scope across the coil and seep the frequency to find the max level which will be the resonant frequency. The scope may de-tune it slightly , but it will be close enough for ID purposes.

I was sure that somewhere I had a file provided by someone in this gorup that not only gave the frequencies of the various coils but the color codes for each - but I can't find it. I have three command set BFO coils. One is color coded Red and is marked 239 KC. One is color coded Yellow and is marked 1415 KC. And one is color coded Black - maybe Dark Brown - and has no other markings. Anyone know what the Black one might be? By the way, the Transmitter oscillator coils are color coded as well. Which one is Yellow? Thanks! WayneWB5WSV ______________________________________________________________
