[ARC5] Battery Report

I have been disappointed by nearly all the brands at one time or another.
More than anything else it's the integrity of the seals that matter.

When a battery runs down (and especially if it discharges deeply via its
internal leakage current) it forms chemicals and gases that contribute to
breaking down the seals. That plus father time eventually causes the seals
to fail. Some battery makers use better quality seals than others. Some
makers have better control of their manufacturing process. It was the
latter that caused the Duracell/Kirkland battery fiasco (I was a victim of
that too).

There's no absolute protection if you let any battery run down deeply while
sitting in the equipment. I will also note that I have never experienced
Li primary cell leakage. However, these types self discharge so slowly
that its rare to find a fully depleted battery even in equipment that's
been sitting on the shelf.
