Yeah, you’re right. Its for channel 3500. My CH-219 is lost somewhere in the new storage spaces and I didn’t think to add and subtract 385 from 3885 and look for those channels on the list in TM 11-625D.

There is a 3885 kHz crystal in the BC-669 crystal chest. Its actually a receive crystal.

Both the actual and receive frequency are marked. Robert is correct, there is no actual pair for 3885. The receive crystal will be a TBD for you.

Ronnie,

The BC-669-A, -B and -C shipped with FT-171-B crystal holders. In 58 years
of collecting, I have never seen a surplus FT-171-B on 3885 KC. AFAIK, the
only Signal Corps radio for which 3885 KC was a standard frequency was the
BC-611. And there is some evidence that the frequency was not actually used
by the Army. Plus it used the FT-243 crystal holder and later the HC-11/U
that externally looks just like it.

The BC-669-D used DC-34 and DC-35 holders. The standard 100-channel crystal
set was contained in CH-219. It also skips 3885 KC. But it does have 3890.

Dave has gotten my interest back up in the 669! While mine is working well
with the oscillators he put in there I would love to have original xtals for
3885 and 3890. They are in pairs for TX and RX
Anyone have them in your pile o crystals?

Thanks
