[ARC5] Single strand 22 g insulated wire

I found two spools of 22ga solid wire.  1. Your normal tin-plated solid copper with green insulation. Insulation seems thicker than average for that size conductor: ~0.09 inch. Don't see any printing on the insulation.
2. Conductor appears to be several strands tinned together to make one conductor. I think someone on one of these Mailman forums said old Heathkit hookup wire was like that.  White insulation, ~0.06 inch dia., with black printing that says (in part, didn't slice off a long enough sample) "style 1430  104*C  300V" (* = degree symbol, don't know if I can insert that symbol in text here).

Let me know if either of these sounds like something you'd like to try using for the Command sets. I haven't bought the spools but can do if you want them.

I would like to rewire them. I prefer the single-strand,22 g, late ‘40s PVC insulated variety, although really I would prefermore modern wire where the PVC will not ‘melt’ all over the place.    Where can I find such wire? The only wire Ican find on eBay is multi-strand, or florist wire that is coloured but hardlyinsulated.    Cheers es 73 de Brian, VK2GCE ______________________________________________________________
