Hi Wayne - I use a 6-32 screw, 2" long as the set screw for the freq knob.
Its length allows you to tweak the freq control with much more control than
rotating the knob directly. Simple, very handy.
That trick was also seen on LM-series frequency standard Corrector
knobs...probably a GI innovation...
