[ARC5] GO-9 project

This spurred me to look at my GO-9 manual. T202, the filament trans in the GO-9 has voltage listed on the simplified schematic as 15.5V for the portion that feeds the 837s. Assuming (yeah I know....) that with the 803 portion listed at 10.5V, and the 801/807 (used in the MF section) portion listed at 7.5V, and there's a resistor in series with the 807 filament, I'd say that either they intended to use a different tube than the 837 for the GO-9 VFO, or figured the oscillator might be more stable/efficient with higher filament voltage? The resistor in series with the IPA 837 should drop the voltage for that tube down to about the 12.6V specified. I doubt the slightly higher filament voltage for the VFO 837 would have hurt it, except maybe over a very long time.

Dave and others,

I looked at the TBW manual, closest I have to the GO,
and it indicated an output voltage on the heater winding
of about 18.
Allowing for voltage drop in the wiring I assume that
this resistor brings the voltage at the tube down to about 12,
as would the resistance of the chokes for the oscillator.

Just a thought.
