My 1970 RCA tube manual states 12.6. However, the Loctal tubes were generally used in auto or maybe aircraft radios and were apparently made to withstand the nominal 14 Volt charging voltages in those usages. It's sort of akin to the 130 Volt bulbs made to better withstand the frequent 125 VAC that shows up in residential power.

Well I’m just going to have to be be more deliberate and careful when I do things. My Hickok 6000A tube tester DOES have a Loctal socket. So all my thrashing about went away and all the Loctal tubes tested okay. Forget all my previous inputs.
But I do have a question, are the 14A7 etc, tubes 14 volt filaments or 12.6 volts?
