Hah, hah, Mike. I never considered the composition of the knob on which I used the described procedure. There is no real heat setting on those small torches, other than noting the flame itself. Regardless, it has always worked for me on the knobs with which I had an issue otherwise. 73 – Mike

I have found that heat always work. This is even if Loctite was used. Once the appropriate wrench is found and doe not do the job by itself, apply heat. When I run into a tough one, I plece the wrench into the screw and secure the handle with long nose pliers. After that I apply heat from a small torch for a few seconds and out comes the screw. 73 – Mike
