Hah, hah, Mike. I never considered the composition of the knob on which I used the described procedure. There is no real heat setting on those small torches, other than noting the flame itself. Regardless, it has always worked for me on the knobs with which I had an issue otherwise. 73 – Mike

When I run into a tough one, I plece the wrench into the screw and secure the handle with long nose pliers.
