The USN commissioned a study in the late 50's or so and found that leaving all the tube gear on 24/7 reduced down time.
Not a good idea in some ham and old military gear where the original paper and electrolytic caps can create a lot of smoke and damage.
Even after full recaps, resistors, etc I wont leave any tube equipment on 24/7 or especially overnight.
