I measured the current draw of at least two of my refurbished (NO leaky caps) "ARC-5"
receivers, a BC-453 and a BC-454.
Plate voltage was 247 VDC, gain control at max, a station tuned in, with a properly
impedance-matched audio load, the total current draw was 50 mA.
That audio level was MUCH too loud, BTW. It was almost rattling the windows.
At normal listening levels, current draw was 17 mA.
As Mac said, 20 to 30 mA is about right.
