The LS-3 was also organic to a number of WW-II vintage sets including SCR-188, 193. 499 and 506.
It was actually organic to the AN/GRC-26D as well except that by then it and the LS-9 were called the LS-215/U and 600 and 4000 ohm taps had been added to the matching transformer. :-)

Meir is, of course, absolutely correct. The LS-3 is organic to the SCR-288/388 and the AN/GRC-26( ) except the D. That said, in a low-noise environment such as a radio shack or ops area the LS-3 does a creditable job. In war movies in the 40's and 50's, one can often see the BC-348 and the LS-3 speaker. In 12 O'clock High there's a scene in a operation center with the above. In Impact and QST magazine, the LS-3 can be see in pictures of AAF radio shops along with a BC-348. So, pretty clear how the two were associated over time. But, the fact remains, there are no "matching" speaker, per se. Last fall at a hamfest I bought a very nice '348-R and LS-3 for $100. The gentleman's signage indicated "BC-348 and matching speaker". Whatever works..... no worries.
