Meir is, of course, absolutely correct. The LS-3 is organic to the SCR-288/388 and the AN/GRC-26( ) except the D. That said, in a low-noise environment such as a radio shack or ops area the LS-3 does a creditable job. In war movies in the 40's and 50's, one can often see the BC-348 and the LS-3 speaker. In 12 O'clock High there's a scene in a operation center with the above. In Impact and QST magazine, the LS-3 can be see in pictures of AAF radio shops along with a BC-348. So, pretty clear how the two were associated over time. But, the fact remains, there are no "matching" speaker, per se. Last fall at a hamfest I bought a very nice '348-R and LS-3 for $100. The gentleman's signage indicated "BC-348 and matching speaker". Whatever works..... no worries.Jeep K3HVG
