[ARC5] AN/ARC-2A OddBall

Dave,That seems a bit odd?  The mod, as applicable to the RT-91, adds the spare fuse holder.  If the switch was field removed, the meter should have been hard-wired for plate current.  My depot OVH RT-91 has the fuse box but the switch is there, albeit now with a defective thermocouple.  A genuine ARC-2A would have a "clean" front panel (no switch) and the fuse holder.  The A model also has a re-designed output circuit, schematically the same as the RT-91, but improved mechanical design.  The new output network design was not applied to the RT-91 according to Navy maintainers I've had contact with.  The rx b+ is muted by one of the (thankfully) contact accessible relays.  Jeep K3HVG

Was going to offer the AN/ARC-2A but a problem
showed-up
with the RX B+ not muting during transmit, so it's
on
the bench for now.

One odd thing:  This was the earlier RT-91 modded
to the
ARC-2A, but it still has the RF Thermocouple
installed and
the meter is permanently wire for Antenna current-
no switch.
Man, that thing would be hard to change.
I thought all of these depot-modded rigs had the
thermo-
couple removed and the meter wired for plate
current.
